Rafix is an assembly system long used in the furniture industry, built around an eccentric (rotating-lock) connector principle. Unlike classic screw-and-dowel joints, which are permanent, Rafix allows parts to be assembled quickly and, when needed, disassembled and reassembled without damage. At Bektaş Mobilya, our Rafix fitting service in Tuzla delivers strong, practical assembly for cabinets, wardrobes, shelving systems, and modular furniture projects.

What Is the Rafix Connector System, and How Does It Work?

In the Rafix system, a dowel (pin) is inserted into one panel, and an eccentric connector housing is fitted into the other panel to grip and lock that dowel. When turned with a screwdriver, the connector housing clamps tightly around the dowel, joining the two panels firmly. Turning it the opposite way releases the joint just as easily — allowing the furniture to be disassembled and rebuilt repeatedly without damage.

Advantages of the Rafix System

  • Fast assembly: its practical connector design significantly shortens assembly time on multi-part furniture.
  • Strong clamping force: when applied correctly, it delivers a reliable joint that doesn't loosen over long-term use.
  • Demountable and reusable: allows furniture to be taken apart and rebuilt for moving, reorganizing, or maintenance.
  • Well suited to batch production: standardized hole and connector placement enables speed and consistency at volume.

Where It's Used

The Rafix system is especially favored in:

  • Modular cabinet and wardrobe systems: where different modules need to be joined together quickly.
  • RTA (ready-to-assemble) furniture: pieces shipped disassembled and put together on-site.
  • Frequently relocated or reconfigured spaces: rented offices, retail display units, and event/stand furniture that gets rebuilt repeatedly.
  • Shelving systems: adjustable or portable storage and shelving systems.

Our Rafix Fitting Process

  1. Planning the connection points: dowel and connector placement is determined based on the furniture's carcass structure.
  2. Precision hole drilling: connection points are drilled to millimeter accuracy on our CNC cutting line — even a small misalignment directly affects joint strength.
  3. Fitting the connectors: dowels and eccentric connector housings are installed into the panels.
  4. Assembly and tightening: panels are joined and connectors are tightened to firm up the carcass.
  5. Inspection: joint tightness and overall carcass alignment are checked before the piece is ready for delivery.

How Rafix Compares to Minifix and Fixed Screwing

A classic screw-and-dowel joint is permanent and can wear the wood down if repeatedly disassembled; Rafix allows this to be repeated many times without damage. Compared to the Minifix system, Rafix generally uses larger, more visible connectors, which gives it higher clamping strength — making it well suited to heavy cabinets and modular systems — while Minifix is preferred for thin panels and projects where the connection needs to be fully hidden. We apply whichever system, or combination, best fits your project.

Factors That Affect Pricing

  • Number of connection (joint) points
  • Number of parts and panels
  • Whether it's a batch/serial production run
  • Hole drilling and additional preparation needed

Once we know your furniture's carcass structure and number of joint points, we prepare a quote tailored to your project.

Where It's Used

Our Rafix fitting service is used by furniture makers building modular cabinets, RTA furniture brands, businesses setting up retail/showroom display units, and office or home users with a higher likelihood of relocating.
