CNC cutting is the process of applying a design through computer-controlled machining centers (CNC routers), reaching a level of precision and repeatability that manual cutting simply can't match. At Bektaş Mobilya, our CNC machine fleet in Tuzla handles everything from straight cuts to complex profiling and hole drilling. We offer this both as part of our own furniture production and as a standalone service for carpenters, furniture makers, and individual clients who only need cutting work done.
What Is CNC Cutting, and Who Is It For?
In CNC cutting, a digital design file is loaded directly into the machine, and the cut is carried out according to programmed coordinates without operator intervention. This method stands out especially for:
- Furniture makers and carpenters: businesses without their own CNC machine that need contract cutting.
- Architects and interior designers: projects requiring custom panels, decorative partitions, or wall-paneling details.
- Businesses running batch or serial production: projects where the same part needs to be repeated dozens or hundreds of times at identical dimensions.
- Individual project owners: anyone building their own furniture or décor piece who needs professional-grade cutting.
What We Offer Under CNC Cutting
Straight and Dimensional Cutting
Cutting a panel to given dimensions in a straight line — the foundation of furniture carcass parts, shelves, and side panels.
Profile and Shaped Cutting
Curved door edges, oval or irregular panel geometries, and decorative cutting patterns that are difficult or impossible to reproduce by hand can be repeated flawlessly with CNC.
Hole Drilling and System 32 Compliance
Hinge cups, drawer runner holes, and shelf-pin holes are drilled according to the "System 32" standard (holes spaced 32 mm apart) widely used across the furniture industry — allowing hardware from different brands to be fitted onto the same carcass without issue.
Engraving and Surface Work
Detailed work such as embossed patterns, logo engraving, or decorative surface treatment on door faces can also be carried out with a CNC router.
Our CNC Cutting Process
- Digitizing the design: your technical drawing or measurements are converted into a cutting file the machine can read.
- Optimizing the cutting layout (nesting): parts are arranged on the panel to minimize material waste.
- Machine setup: cutting speed, spindle rotation, and blade/router bit selection are set according to material type and thickness.
- Running the cut: the panel is secured to the CNC table and machined precisely following the program.
- Inspection and handover: cut parts are checked for dimensional accuracy and edge quality, then either routed straight to edge banding or delivered as-cut, depending on your request.
Materials, Equipment, and Methods We Use
We provide CNC cutting mainly on melamine-faced MDF, lacquered MDF, plywood, and particleboard. Our computer-controlled router machines work with interchangeable router bits and blades matched to material type, delivering clean, chip-free cuts on both soft and dense panels. Preparing a dedicated digital cutting plan for every project not only guarantees precision but also reduces material waste.
How CNC Cutting Differs From Manual Cutting and Other Methods
With manual cutting or a standard circular saw, precision depends on the operator's skill; with CNC cutting, the result depends entirely on the program — meaning dozens of parts can be produced at exactly the same dimensions. For purely straight cuts, our faster panel sizing service is often sufficient, while any cut involving curves, holes, or decorative patterns calls for CNC cutting. On many projects we combine both methods to gain speed and precision at the same time.
Factors That Affect Pricing
- Material type and thickness
- Design complexity (a straight cut versus a profiled or engraved design)
- Number of parts and total square meters
- Hole-drilling and additional operations (hinge cups, System 32 holes, etc.)
- Turnaround time
Rather than a standard price list, we review your file or measurements and prepare a clear quote tailored to your project.
Where It's Used
Our CNC cutting service is used by furniture makers producing kitchen cabinets and wardrobes, interior designers applying decorative wall/ceiling panels, businesses preparing showroom or retail display units, and homeowners bringing their own furniture project to life.
Our Service Area
We provide CNC cutting from our workshop in Tuzla, covering Pendik, Kartal, and the entire Anatolian side of Istanbul; for larger cutting volumes we can also help arrange material pickup.
